How to write a note about a spin

A note is a description of what happened in your own words. The app can use it to fill in other steps, and you can read it back later. Long or short, both are fine.

There are two places to write one in the full Log Spin guide: Paint the picture near the start, and Notes near the end.

Option A: Paint the picture

This step reads your words and tries to fill in the rest of the log for you: severity, symptoms, medicines, triggers, reliefs and more.

  1. Tap the Log tab, then Log Spin.
  2. Tap Next to reach Paint the picture (Type or speak freely — we'll pre-fill your entire log).
  3. Type a few sentences. For example: "Woke up with the room spinning when I rolled over. Felt sick. Lay still with my eyes closed. Took my anti-sickness tablet at seven."
  4. Or tap Voice and speak. Tap Stop when you are done.
  5. Tap Find matches. It shows Analysing…, then lists what it found, such as Severity: 6/10 and the items it added.
  6. Remove anything that does not apply. Items in italics are suggestions rather than things you said.
  7. Tap Next. The matched items now appear in their own steps.

If nothing useful is found you will see No matches found — you can add items manually in the next steps. That is fine.

Option B: Notes

This step is for anything that does not fit elsewhere.

  1. Step through to Notes (Anything else worth remembering: context, what helped, recovery.). It comes just before Review.
  2. Type, or tap Voice and speak.
  3. Tap Next, then Save spin log on the Review step.

Notes is always part of the guide, because what you write in Paint the picture is kept as the spin's note.

Keep it short if you like

"Spun for a minute after looking up at a shelf, felt sick after" is a useful note. The point is to capture what you may forget by tomorrow.

Editing a note later

  1. Open the Journal tab and find the spin.
  2. Tap the ⋯ menu, then Edit.
  3. Go to Notes, change the text, then tap Update spin log on the Review step.
