VertigoMe's daily Evening check-in reminder arrives around 8pm. You may also have turned on other alerts, such as Daily risk alerts or the Daily exercise reminder. If notifications have stopped, something on your phone is usually blocking them. Here is what to check, simplest first.
The settings differ between iPhone and Android. We split each step where it matters.
Step 1: Check Do Not Disturb or Focus
On iPhone
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
- Look for a moon icon (Do Not Disturb) or a Focus such as Sleep or Work.
- If one is highlighted, tap it to turn it off.
On Android
- Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers.
- Look for Do Not Disturb.
- If it is highlighted, tap it to turn it off.
Step 2: Check notification permission inside VertigoMe
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left, then Data and Notifications.
- Find the Notifications card near the top.
- Look at the Notification permission row. If it says Granted, move on. If it shows Allow, tap it and allow notifications. If it shows Open Settings, tap it and switch notifications on in your phone's settings.
Every switch in this card depends on that permission. Without it, nothing can reach you.
Step 3: Check the phone's notification settings
On iPhone
- Open Settings, then Notifications.
- Find VertigoMe and tap it.
- Turn on Allow Notifications, and tick Lock Screen, Notification Centre and Banners.
On Android
- Open Settings, then Notifications (or Apps & notifications).
- Find VertigoMe and tap it.
- Turn on Allow notifications, and check that each category inside is on.
Step 4: Check the switches for the reminders you want
In the Notifications card (gear icon, Data and Notifications):
- Evening check-in is the daily reminder at 8pm.
- Daily risk alerts shows which risk level it alerts you on. Tap it to change the level, or choose Off.
- Daily exercise reminder has a switch and three times to pick from.
Make sure the ones you want are on.
Step 5: Turn off Low Power Mode or Battery Saver
A phone saving battery may hold back notifications.
On iPhone
Open Settings, tap Battery and turn off Low Power Mode.
On Android
Open Settings, tap Battery and turn off Battery Saver. Then check VertigoMe is allowed to run in the background under the app's battery settings.
Step 6: Restart the phone
On iPhone
- Press and hold the side button and either volume button until slide to power off appears.
- Slide to power off.
- Wait about thirty seconds.
- Press the side button to turn it back on.
On Android
- Press and hold the power button.
- Tap Restart. If you only see Power off, tap it, wait a minute, then press the power button again.
Step 7: Update VertigoMe
- iPhone: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and tap Update next to VertigoMe if it is there.
- Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Manage apps & device, then Updates available, and update VertigoMe if it is listed.
Step 8: Reinstall VertigoMe
Your spins and settings are stored in your VertigoMe account, so deleting the app does not delete them.
- Press and hold the VertigoMe icon.
- Tap Delete app (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android).
- Open the App Store or Google Play, search for VertigoMe and install it again.
- Sign in with the same account you used before.
- When the phone asks whether VertigoMe can send notifications, tap Allow.
