Sometimes you open VertigoMe on your watch and see a sign-in screen instead of your risk gauge. On Apple Watch it says Syncing with iPhone. On Garmin it is the welcome screen with a Pair button. This is normal and quick to fix. Nothing has been lost.
It happens because the watch holds a copy of your sign-in from your phone. On a new watch, after a reinstall, or after you signed out on the phone, the watch does not have that copy yet.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch picks up its sign-in from VertigoMe on your iPhone, so this is rare.
- On your iPhone, open VertigoMe and sign in if asked.
- Leave VertigoMe open for about 10 seconds.
- On the watch, open VertigoMe and tap Retry.
- Your home screen with the gauge should appear.
If it still says Syncing with iPhone after a minute:
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Find VertigoMe in the list and tap it.
- Turn Show App on Apple Watch off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
- Wait a minute, then open VertigoMe on the watch again.
Garmin
For a Garmin watch, pair again. It is the same as the first time.
- On the watch, open VertigoMe and tap Pair. A fresh 6-digit code appears with Waiting for phone....
- On your phone, open VertigoMe, tap the gear icon, then Connections.
- On the Garmin card, tap Pair watch.
- Type the 6 digits and tap Link.
- The phone shows Watch paired and the watch says Paired!.
See Pairing your Garmin watch with the 6-digit code for more detail.
Why this happens
The watch keeps a key that lets it reach your VertigoMe account. If that key is missing or can no longer be used, for example after a reset or a reinstall, the watch asks to be signed in again. This keeps your data safe if you lose your watch.
Still not working?
- I cannot find Pair watch on my phone. It is on the Garmin card under the gear icon, Connections, not on the Home tab.
- The watch says Code expired. Tap the watch for a fresh code.
- Nothing helps. Email [email protected]. Tell us whether you have an Apple Watch or a Garmin, and what the watch screen shows.
