How does the risk score work?

Near the top of the Home screen there is a half-circle gauge with a number in it, for example 3.4. That is your risk score for today. It is a friendly way of saying: "based on what has been logged for you recently, here is how full your bucket is."

Think of it like a weather forecast. The forecast does not promise rain. It tells you the chance, so you can decide whether to take an umbrella.

What the colour means

Under the number is a coloured word. There are four levels:

What goes into the score

The score is built from the triggers and warning signs (prodromes) logged for you over the last 7 days. Some you log yourself. Others are added automatically when a connected source crosses a line, for example:

Each item counts more when it is rated more severe for you and when it is more recent. Something from this morning counts much more than something from six days ago. Items rated NONE do not count.

You do not need all of these to start. The more the app knows, the more useful the score becomes.

Tapping the gauge for more detail

  1. Tap the gauge. The Risk detail screen opens.
  2. Under All contributors you see everything pushing the score up, in order, each with a bar.
  3. The arrows beside the gauge step through today and the next six days.
  4. Tap Risk history → for a graph of how your score rose and fell over recent days.

Below the gauge on Home there is also a Top contributors card with the top three. The Risk detail screen, the forecast for future days and the Top contributors card are part of Premium. Today's score is always free.

Under the gauge you also see when your last spin was, for example Last spin: 3 days ago.

Why the score changes during the day

The score refreshes as new information arrives. A poor night's sleep may raise it in the morning. A pressure drop can push it up later. A trigger you log at lunch can shift it again. Pull down on the Home screen to refresh.

"But I had a spin on a green day"

This will happen. Not every cause can be measured, and some conditions, such as BPPV, are set off by head movement rather than a build-up of triggers. A green day means less likely, not impossible. Trust your body first and the score second.

If the score stays at 0.0

  1. Log something. A new account has nothing to score yet.
  2. Refresh. Pull down on the Home screen, or close the app fully and open it again.
  3. Check your internet. The score is worked out on our servers.

If you have logged triggers and it still shows 0.0 after a full day, please write to [email protected].

The score is a guide built from your own logs. It is not a medical prediction.
