The hardest part of any tracker is remembering to use it. VertigoMe offers a gentle daily reminder at 8pm that opens the Daily Check-In.
You do not have to use it. The app works without it, but many people find their logs are more complete with it.
Checking the reminder is on
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen.
- Tap Data and Notifications.
- On the Notifications card, make sure Notification permission says Granted.
- The Evening check-in row ("Daily reminder at 8pm to log your day") is then on.
That is all. There is nothing else to set.
Can I change the time?
No. The reminder is fixed at 8pm in your local time. If that does not suit you, use your phone's Do Not Disturb or Focus settings to keep it quiet at that time, or set a reminder in your phone's own Reminders or Clock app.
The Daily Check-In
Tapping the reminder opens the Daily Check-In. It walks you through a short note about your day, anything notable from your calendar, and a quick pass over your triggers, prodromes, medicines, reliefs and activities. If you have an open spin, it also asks about postdrome symptoms. If you are on a treatment, it checks in about side effects.
You can also open it any time: tap the Log tab, then the Daily Check-In card.
Skipping a day is fine. It will ask again tomorrow.
Other reminders
- The Daily exercise reminder nudges you to do your vestibular exercises at a time you choose.
- The Questionnaire reminder reminds you to retake your questionnaires every one, two or three months.
Both are on the same Notifications card.
Turning the evening reminder off
The Evening check-in switch follows your phone's notification permission for VertigoMe. Switching it off opens your phone's settings, where you can turn VertigoMe's notifications off. That stops all VertigoMe notifications.
If the reminder does not show up
- Check notifications are allowed for VertigoMe in your phone's settings.
- Check your phone is not silenced at 8pm.
- Close VertigoMe fully and open it again. The reminder is scheduled when the app starts.
- Check your phone's time zone is correct.
