Some people notice that attacks tend to arrive just after a stressful stretch ends: the first day of a holiday, the weekend after a hard week, the evening after a big deadline. This is often called a let-down pattern. It is mostly described in migraine, so it may be most relevant if you have vestibular migraine. Not everyone has it.
VertigoMe has a trigger called Letdown (post-stress) so you can find out whether this pattern applies to you.
The important thing to know
Letdown (post-stress) is a manual trigger. There is no single number the app can watch for it, so it never fires on its own. You log it when you notice you are coming down from a stressful stretch. Once logged, it counts towards your risk score and your patterns like any other trigger.
Where the trigger lives
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen.
- Tap Manage Items, then Triggers.
- Open the Cognitive card. The row Letdown (post-stress) is there.
As a manual trigger it has no Fires above or Fires below line. You can star it as a favourite and give it a Prediction weight like any other trigger.
How to log it
On your phone:
- On the Home screen, tap Trigger on the Quick Log strip and pick Letdown (post-stress) from your favourites (star it first so it appears there).
- Or tap the Log tab, then the Trigger card, and pick it from the full list.
On a watch app, the Trigger button shows your favourites, so star it first.
You can also pick it on the Triggers page when you log a full spin.
How your data helps you spot it
If you wear a watch or ring that sends stress, heart rate variability or resting heart rate to VertigoMe, look at your stress history on the Monitor tab. A run of high-stress days followed by a sharp drop is the typical let-down shape. Over time your Insights will show whether it is one of your real patterns.
A gentle reminder
If your spins tend to arrive on the first quiet day after pressure, star this trigger and log it consistently for a few weeks. If the pattern is there, it will show. Talk to your ENT or neurologist about any pattern you find.
