A WHOOP band tracks your sleep, recovery, strain and heart rate around the clock. VertigoMe can read much of that to look for patterns around your spins.
WHOOP connects directly to VertigoMe. There is no Apple Health or Health Connect bridge in between. You sign in to your WHOOP account once, and your data then flows in on its own. This works the same way on iPhone and on Android.
Step 1: Make sure your device is syncing
- Open the WHOOP app on your phone.
- Check that today's data (or last night's sleep) is there.
- If not, bring the device close to your phone and let the app sync.
Step 2: Connect WHOOP in VertigoMe
- Open VertigoMe.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen. A drawer slides in from the left.
- Tap Connections.
- Find the WHOOP card (it shows the WHOOP logo) and tap Connect.
- A short VertigoMe note, Connect Whoop?, explains what will be read. Tap Continue.
- A WHOOP sign-in page opens. On iPhone, your phone may first ask whether VertigoMe may use the WHOOP website to sign in. Tap Continue.
- Sign in with your WHOOP email and password.
- Allow VertigoMe to read your data.
You are taken back to VertigoMe and the button now reads Connected.
Step 3: Wait a little while
After you connect, new data arrives when WHOOP sends it, usually after your band syncs in the morning.
To check it is working, open the Monitor tab and look at the Sleep and Physical Health cards.
What comes through
Sleep (duration, stages, score, timing and disturbances), recovery, strain, HRV, resting heart rate, skin temperature, blood oxygen and time in high heart rate zones. WHOOP does not share a step count, so steps come from your phone or Apple Health or Health Connect instead. WHOOP has no stress score of its own, so VertigoMe works out a stress estimate from your HRV and resting heart rate.
When you connect WHOOP, VertigoMe makes it the source for the metrics it supports, including your sleep. If you use more than one device, you can change the source for each metric. See Choosing which device gives VertigoMe each piece of data.
Troubleshooting
"Connected but no data"
- Open WHOOP and let it sync.
- Open VertigoMe and go to the Monitor tab. Pull down to refresh.
- Overnight data can take an hour or two after you wake up.
If it is still empty after a few hours, disconnect and connect again (see below).
"I want to disconnect"
Tap the Connected button on the WHOOP card. A window asks Disconnect Whoop?. Tap Disconnect. Metrics that came from WHOOP move to the next source that can provide them, such as Apple Health or Health Connect. To fully remove VertigoMe's access, you can also revoke it in your WHOOP account settings.
