Stress, HRV
and recovery

your body, read every morning from your wearable

Your body keeps a record of the day before the spin: the HRV that dropped, the stress that stayed high, the recovery that never came. VertigoMe collects those numbers every morning from a connected wearable, Apple Health or Health Connect, and tests each one against your spins.

Stress indexGarmin and Oura send their own stress score; for other sources the app computes one each morning from HRV and resting heart rate against your 14-day baseline. Stress high and low are automatic triggers.
HRV and resting heart rateHeart rate variability and resting heart rate every morning from a connected source, plotted against your spins under Monitor and Physical Health.
Recovery and strainRecovery score and strain where your device provides them; Garmin's Body Battery counts as recovery. Recovery high and low fire as triggers when a day crosses your line.
Steps and heart rate zonesSteps high and low, and time in high heart rate zones, are automatic triggers too. A hard session and a day on the sofa both count when they line up with your spins.
Breathing, oxygen, skinRespiratory rate, SpO2 and skin temperature are collected when your device measures them, and shown next to everything else.

What is collected

HRV, resting heart rate, recovery, strain, stress index, steps, time in high heart rate zones, respiratory rate, SpO2, skin temperature, weight, body fat, blood pressure and blood glucose, whichever your source provides. Garmin, Oura and Polar connect directly; Apple Watch, Fitbit, Samsung and most other devices come in through Apple Health or Health Connect.

Stress, two ways

If your source is Garmin or Oura, the stress number is the one your device computed. Otherwise VertigoMe computes a 0 to 100 stress index at 9 in the morning from your HRV and resting heart rate against your own two-week baseline, which needs both of those enabled. There is no manual stress score; a stressful moment is logged as a Stress event or Anxiety spike trigger instead.

Which of it fires as a trigger

Stress high and low, recovery high and low, steps high and low, and time in high heart rate zones low are automatic triggers. Each has a fixed threshold and a two-standard-deviation check against your 14-day baseline, evaluated hourly. Set the severity you believe in and let the statistics tell you whether the data agrees.

Questions

Which wearables work?

Garmin, Oura and Polar connect directly in Settings and Connections. Apple Watch and anything else that writes to Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android comes in from there.

How much history comes across?

Not all of it. Health Connect brings the last 14 days, Apple Health syncs from today forward, and Garmin, Oura and Polar backfill roughly the last month, which is what their services keep.

Is HRV measured by the app itself?

No. HRV and resting heart rate come from your connected source. The app reads them, it does not measure them.
