Logging a spin: rating the spin and any headache

After Paint the picture, the full spin log asks how bad the spin was. A separate Headache page lets you record head pain if you had any.

These steps are the same on iPhone and Android.

The Spin page

The page asks how bad the spin was and what kind it was. You can add another entry if it changed during the spin.

The first card is already there for you. It is called At spin start.

  1. Spin severity: drag the slider from None (0) to Severe (10). It starts at 5.
  2. How did it feel?: tap every kind of spin that fits, for example Room spinning, Rocking sensation or Unsteadiness. The kinds come from your own list. A count shows how many you picked.

If the spin got worse or changed, tap + Add entry below the card. The new card starts from the values of the previous one. Tap Set time on it to say when this moment was. You can remove extra entries with the cross on the card.

If Paint the picture found a severity, it is already filled in on the first card.

The Headache page

Vestibular migraine and some other conditions can bring head pain along with the spin. The Headache page is where you record it. If there was no headache, skip it.

  1. Tap + Add headache entry. A card appears with a 0 to 10 slider.
  2. Below the slider is a head map. Tap the dots where it hurt, and switch between Front and Back to see both sides.
  3. Add more entries if the pain moved or changed.
  4. Under Headache ended, you can set when the head pain stopped. If you leave it, it reads Ended with the spin.

To say there was no headache after all, remove every headache entry.

Why you may not see the Headache page

The Headache page is shown by default if your vestibular condition (from setup or your Profile) is vestibular migraine or PPPD, or if you have not chosen one. It is hidden by default for BPPV, Ménière's disease, vestibular neuritis and Mal de Débarquement.

You can always switch it back on:

  1. Tap the Log tab.
  2. Tap the small pencil on the Log Spin card.
  3. Turn on the switch next to Headache.

When the Headache page is hidden, the Headache button on the Quick Log is hidden too.
