For reminders to arrive, your phone has to allow VertigoMe to send notifications, and the kinds you want have to be on inside the app. You usually only need to do this once.
Step 1: Allow notifications
The easiest way is from inside the app.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left and tap Data and Notifications.
- On the Notifications card, tap Allow on the Notification permission row.
- Allow notifications when your phone asks. The row then shows Granted.
When you allow notifications for the first time, VertigoMe switches the useful ones on for you: risk alerts at Mild, trigger alerts, recommendation alerts, device check-ins, community notifications, the ongoing spin reminder every 3 days, the exercise reminder at 19:00 and, with Premium, the monthly questionnaire reminder.
If the row shows Open Settings, you said no earlier. Allow notifications for VertigoMe in your phone's settings:
- iPhone: Settings, Notifications, VertigoMe, switch on Allow Notifications.
- Android: Settings, Apps, VertigoMe, Notifications, switch on Show notifications.
Step 2: Check the in-app settings
Back on the Notifications card, set each row the way you like: Daily risk alerts, Ongoing spin reminder, Trigger alerts, Recommendation alerts, Daily exercise reminder and the rest.
The evening reminder and your location
The 8 pm reminder is timed using the time zone from your daily location. Keep location allowed for VertigoMe so it arrives at the right time. See "Letting VertigoMe use your location for weather".
Checking it works
At 8 pm your local time you should see "How was today?". If not, check that your phone is not in Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode, then see "What to do if you are not getting any notifications".
The evening reminder time cannot be changed in the app. If 8 pm is awkward, your phone's Do Not Disturb or Focus settings can quieten it.
